IPL 2016 is coming with two new entrants replacing CSK and RR

The Rajkot and Pune teams seem to be entering into the IPL season 2016 replacing CSK and RR for next two years. On Tuesday, the meeting was held in BCCI where these two teams won the bids to be a part of the Indian Premier League 2016.

The IPL 2016 is all set to start its journey from 9th April 2016 to 29th May 2016 that was announced at Tuesday’s meeting. However, the auction for the IPL 2016 will start on 6th of February 2016 in Bangalore city.

According to the conclusion of the meeting, the Intex group has won the bid for Rajkot based IPL team where as the Kolkata-based leading industrialist Mr. Sanjiv Goenka, who is the Chairman of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, has won the bid supporting to Pune-based IPL team.

Further, the RP-Sanjiv Goenka group is also an active co-owner of the ISL (Indian Super League). The ISL is a contract established between Atletico de and Kolkata governing by the Council of La Liga club Atletico Madrid and former Indian captain as well as the active member of IPL Sourav Ganguly.

The Intex group wins the Rajkot team bid for ten crores while Pune-based IPL team has owned by RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group for 16 crores. The base price for the bid was set for Rs. 40 crores and the party who will call the lowest possible share will be declared as the winner of the new team.

After winning the bid, Mr. Sanjiv Goenka faces the Times Now reporters where he said that “Sports is the only thing that we are getting more committed to with each passing day, and we think that sports are opening its gates for establishing potential business”. Adding to his speech he told that “Today, we have already penetrated into the Football, and this is the venture with Cricket”.

Mr. Goenka also said that “For them, Pune is the best for offering the better economic sense”. The BCCI secretary, Mr. Anurag Thakur, said that “The new teams will not take a single penny from BCCI pocket. Instead they will pay to BCCI” after completion of the meeting in New Delhi.

After taking out the name of PepsiCo out of IPL’s title sponsor, Vivo- a Chinese cell-phone manufacturing unit has appeared as the title sponsor for the forthcoming IPL season. Due to 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal, the CSK and RR teams are suspended for two years; however, they will be back into the league after the suspension period gets over.
