Best Bowling Figures:
RanganaHerath of Sri Lanka demolished the formidable New Zealand batting attack with his fierce bowling and grabbed 5 wickets at a mere expense of 3 runs. The second entry deserved a mention owing to the performance being executed against odds. Ahsan Malik of Netherlands landed up 5 wickets against South Africa while giving away only 19 runs. The ‘minnow’ status of Netherlands was rebuffed with such a performance.
Dwayne Bravo of West Indies scooped 7 catches in 5 matches to grab the top spot on the list with Australian Glenn Maxwell adorning the second position with 6 catches in 4 matches.
Most Dismissals By A Wicket keeper:
The Protean side claimed another feather in their cap with Quinton de Kock acquiring 8 dismissals in 5 matches. Out of the 8 dismissals, 6 were catches while the other two were stumping.
The Player of the tournament award went to India’s Virat Kohli for his consistent performance throughout the series and the colossal 319 runs which he had accumulated by the end of the tournament.
